I just got the call from the mechanic. He has figured out what is wrong with my car. Apparently, in my mad dash to make it to the softball game, I topped off the tank with diesel. He'll get it fixed up and back to me some time during the beginning of next week.
I feel like such a bonehead.

LOL! Ok! That must have been some baseball game! Diesel pumps normally appear different and sure smell different! You are lucky that didn't do some damage to your engine!
Well, I still don't have the car back from the mechanic, so I don't know whether the engine is healthy. I assume it is fine (if for no other reason that makes it one less thing to worry about). We'll have to see.
Ouch -- that almost happened to me when the store owner came running out yelling at me. I felt like an idiot, but at least I got off cheap :)
Well here is hoping that your car is running well again! I just had to change my alternator in mine.
AJ: I wish someone had run out and yelled at me. As far as sight and smell, I'm far too absent minded to notice the obvious.
Catshark: I just picked it up today. It now works far better than it has in a long time. It's good to be back behind the wheel.
Oh I bet it is great to be back behind the wheel again! I just had to replace yet another part on my car. A tiny little license plate light. The whole embarrassing story is on my blog.
As for being absent minded don't feel too bad about that some times I believe I have no drain dat tall! :)
